Spring Meadows Hanoverians

Breeders of Elite Hanoverians

About Us

Ed and Susie Skellenger are horse lovers who are in the business for the joy that comes from horses and producing elite sport horses that the amateur rider can enjoy.

Susie has been raised with horses all her life and was given her first horse on Christmas morning in 1983 at the age of two. From that moment her heart belonged to the little miniature horse called Kiss My Kiwi.  Kiwi taught Susie how to get up and wipe the dirt from her pants when she fell and really taught her to ride.

When Susie out grew her little mare, she fell in love with a Hanoverian horse named Saint Iron Horse.  They showed together in Medals, Equitation, and Hunters for years until his surprising early death at the young age of 16.

After Iron Horse, Susie rode and trained a Hanoverian mare that her family purchased as a two year old in the Glenwood auction for 26k.  Her name was Kharisma and they rode to many victories together. With Kharisma Susie was able to fine tune her riding skills with riding professionals such as Susie Hutchingson and many others.

Kame On Easter was Susie’s next horse and her greatest love. Easter is the first horse raised and trained by only Susie.  Easter and Susie both went on to win in hand shows and hunters over the years together.

These horses have all been amazing teachers that shaped Susie into the rider and the horse woman that she is today.

Riding is not Susie’s only past time.  Breeding and raising horses is her passion. Luckily for Susie, her family owns and operates Rainbow Equus Meadows, breeders of elite Hanoverians, where she worked when while growing up and was quite a hand in helping to build the family’s business.  Now, Susie and Ed have decided to go out and breed her own Hanoverians.

Ed loves to trail ride and go Team Penning. He has always been a country boy and he also shares the love of horses and the compassion for all animals. They both want to share with you the passion and together produce fine young sport horses that will contribute to the horse industry for years to come.
